I like teaching the little guys because like most of you out there, I have parents. I've got a mom and a dad and they worked their fingers to the bone to make a better life for their children. I happen to be the beneficiary of their hard work.
Back on the first crash in 1987 my dad watched his nice retirement account get decimated because of some idiot broker who just wanted more and more money. No one was really looking out for my dad's best interest. And there are a million little guys like my dad out there that have no one on their side.
Well guess what? Now there is. I happen to be in a position to help people out that way. I enjoy what I do, I love teaching, and I love the market. Put the two together, I'm a happy person teaching the little guy.
The reason I enjoy teaching the little guy is because I am him. I grew up in a middle class neighborhood in Queens, New York. I didn't have a silver spoon in my mouth or live in a mansion or anything like that. I've seen people bust their hump just to make a living. I've seen those same people invest their hard earned dollars in the market and lose. And when I was 17, I went to Wall Street and I saw what was going on. I saw these super-wealthy people getting super-wealthier by screwing over the little guy. It made me sick.
